Deputy CEO- Finance and Administration

Andrew Kamkwalala joined Malawi Electoral Commission as Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Finance and Administration on 1 November 2022.

Previously to joining the Commission, Andrew served in leadership roles in the private sector since 2001; notably as Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of National Integrated Technologies Limited (NITEL), one of Malawi’s premier technologies companies from November 2015 to October 2022; and, prior to being appointed Chief Executive Officer, as the company’s Head of Finance and Administration and Company Secretary. In these capacities, he played critical roles in cross-function collaborations bridging strategy, financial control, product introductions and business development.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Accountancy degrees. He is an alumnus of the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business’ Executive Leadership Programme, which focused on leadership of dynamic environments.
